AUGB Glasgow began its Ukrainian Independence Day programme with a large Ukrainian Family Day at Victoria Park, bringing together more than 700 people for a day of community, culture and celebration.
Held on Ukrainian State Flag Day, the event marked the opening of three consecutive days of Independence Day activities organised by AUGB Glasgow. Families, children, young people, community members, partners and friends of Ukraine came together to enjoy a vibrant day filled with Ukrainian music, culture, creative activities and community connection.
The celebration created a welcoming space where people of different generations could meet, spend time together and celebrate Ukrainian identity in Glasgow. It reflected AUGB Glasgow’s commitment to building community through events that are open, inclusive and rooted in culture.
The event also had a strong charitable impact. Thanks to the generosity of guests and supporters across the Independence Day celebrations, more than £2,000 was raised for medical support for Ukraine.
AUGB Glasgow would like to thank everyone who joined the event and helped make the day such a success — including volunteers, performers, partners, workshop leaders and all members of the community who took part.
