AUGB Glasgow FAQ
What is AUGB Glasgow?
AUGB Glasgow is the Glasgow Branch of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain.
Established in 2015, we support the Ukrainian community across Greater Glasgow through educational, cultural, social and community programmes for children, young people, adults and older members of the community.
Do I need to be an AUGB member to attend activities?
No. Most AUGB Glasgow activities and community events are open to participants regardless of whether they are AUGB members.
Some activities may have specific eligibility, age or registration requirements. Please check the information for the individual activity before registering.
How can I find out what activities are currently running?
You can view our current programmes on the Activities section of the website.
We also announce upcoming activities, events and registration opportunities through our social media channels.
Do I need to register for activities?
Registration requirements vary.
Some activities require advance registration because places are limited, while others may be open without registration.
Please check the information provided for the individual activity or event.
Are AUGB Glasgow activities free?
Many of our community activities are provided free of charge thanks to funding, partnerships and the support of volunteers.
However, some activities may have a participation fee. Any cost will be clearly stated in the activity information before registration.
Where do activities take place?
Many of our current activities take place at:
Red Tree Bridgeton
33 Dalmarnock Road
Glasgow
G40 4LA
Some events, workshops, excursions and community activities take place at other venues across Glasgow and Scotland.
Always check the location listed for the individual activity or event.
Are activities available in Ukrainian or English?
This depends on the programme.
Many activities are delivered in Ukrainian, while others use English or a combination of both languages.
Our English classes and Speaking Club are specifically designed to help participants develop their English-language skills.
Can I join if I am not Ukrainian?
Yes. While AUGB Glasgow exists primarily to support the Ukrainian community and preserve Ukrainian culture and identity, many of our activities and public events welcome people from the wider Scottish community and friends of Ukraine.
Individual programmes may have specific target groups, so please check the activity information.
