Volunteering with AUGB Glasgow
Volunteers are an important part of AUGB Glasgow and help us deliver activities, events and community programmes throughout the year.
AUGB Glasgow is part of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain and has been supporting the Ukrainian community in Greater Glasgow since 2015. We organise educational, cultural, social and community activities for children, young people, adults and older members of the community.
Our programme includes English classes and speaking clubs, children’s activities, youth programmes, music and drama, film screenings, creative workshops, cultural events, excursions, community gatherings and larger public events.
How You Can Help
We usually need volunteers to support specific events, workshops, festivals and community activities.
Volunteer roles may include:
- helping with event setup and preparation
- welcoming participants and visitors
- supporting registration and event organisation
- helping people with directions and information
- assisting tutors, facilitators and event organisers
- supporting children’s and community activities
- photography and video support
- helping with practical tasks before, during and after events
For some roles involving children or young people, additional requirements such as PVG membership may apply.
When Do We Need Volunteers?
Volunteering with AUGB Glasgow does not mean committing to a fixed weekly schedule.
We keep a volunteer contact list and get in touch when we need additional support for an upcoming event, activity, workshop, excursion or community initiative.
This means you can register your interest now and decide later which opportunities suit your availability.
When we need help, we will contact you directly with information about the event, date, time and type of support required.
Why Volunteer with Us?
Volunteering is a great way to get involved in the community, meet new people, gain experience and help create activities that make a real difference.
Whether you can help occasionally or would like to become more regularly involved, we would be very happy to hear from you.
Join our community. Share your time. Make a difference.
